Art Nouveau Inspired Bronze and Aquamarine Bat Earrings

I love bats, they are very important pollinators and they eat mosquitoes. Bats are considered a symbol of new beginnings, they represent perception of that which is unseen by others, and they are considered a symbol of good luck in many cultures. They are also heavily featured in jewelry from the Art Nouveau period.

I am very inspired by Art Nouveau motifs and I used that inspiration in these earrings. I cast these earrings in bronze from an antique jewelry die and added aquamarine briolettes and rondelles with oxidized sterling silver wire, the earwires are also sterling silver.

Aquamarine is the birthstone for March.
