Copper Victorian Twin Thistles
Every time I see a thistle pop up in my yard I consider it a sign of good luck. The thistle has been considered a symbol of protection since the the Viking invasion of Scotland when the advancing enemy stepped on a thistle and screamed waking the sleeping Scotsmen. It is also a symbol of endurance and strength as it can flourish in conditions so harsh that other things won't grow.
I cast these earrings from a mold that I made of a Victorian era button, the design is beautifully detailed with twin thistles embracing each other.
Just under 1 inch (about 25mm) in total length, width is 9/16 (14mm) inches these earrings are light enough for every day wear.
