I cast these beautifully detailed earrings in recycled fine silver directly from an antique jewelry die from India. I cut the total piece in half to make two separate earrings, the birds gaze at each other across a mango blossom. I hand oxidized the silver carefully to bring out the detail and give the earrings an antique appearance, both pieces at once to assure consistency in color, and achieved an otherworldly vibrant blue/green on the metal.
These earrings have an antique look, with a tribal theme (the die is from the Kuchi tribe), while retaining a delicacy and daintiness unusual to tribal jewelry.
Components are about 1/2 inch (12mm) long, and just under 3/8 inch (9mm) wide. Total length of earrings including earwires is just under 1 inch (25mm).
