I sculpted these components using a specific, historical bronze clay formulation that shrinks nearly twenty-five percent in the kiln. Since this particular clay body is no longer in production, this exact design scale cannot be replicated. After firing, the dense bronze is thoroughly oxidized to isolate shadows within the deep channels, put through a magnetic tumbler twice, and repeatedly hand-polished to reveal a rich, ancient satin glow.

Once I hand-texture and carve the wet clay, it is fired in a high-temperature studio kiln. The organic binder burns away completely, leaving behind a solid, highly durable piece of pure bronze jewelry.

Because the bronze square tiles hang freely from premium solid sterling silver wire and earwires, the base metal does not pierce the ear or rest directly against your skin.
