I made these tiny flower earrings in recycled sterling silver from a mold I made of an antique button. The earrings feature a subtle etching of a daisy that appears as though it was lifted from a light sketch dreamily made in a garden.
The earrings are cast in sterling silver clay that once fired in my kiln is transformed into solid sterling silver. After firing the earrings are burnished for several hours, oxidized and then buffed to reveal details through contrast, and burnished again for several hours.
They are tiny, whisper light with hand applied oxidation to enhance the antique nature of the earrings. The earwires are sterling silver and the overall length of the earrings is just over 3/4 inches (19mm).
The cheerful daisy flower is the birth flower for those born in April.
