Do you feel the pull of the moon? Do you hear the echo of the Goddess to celebrate your connection to her? The moon often symbolizes characteristics associated with femininity, such as intuition, empowerment, and the embodiment and connection to the rhythms of Life's cycles. It has deep connections to the Divine Feminine.
I made this necklace with sterling silver metal clay cast from a detailed stamp designed for working with metal clay. I cut the clay into the shape of the crescent moon and then painstakingly refined all rough edges and then fired it in a kiln. Once fired the pendant is solid sterling silver and it is burnished for several hours, oxidized, buffed to bring out detail, burnished again and then hand polished.
After finishing the crescent moon component I assembled the necklace by adding the antique faceted gemstone accent, a dreamy Paraiba shade of blue fluorite, that I hand wrapped in oxidized sterling silver wire, and added oxidized sterling silver oval rolo chain, and lobster clasp. The finishing touch: an elegant textured sterling silver extender chain allows the necklace to be worn at up to nearly 19 inches long and it is finished with a Balinese sterling silver charm.
The length of the pendant is 1 1/4" and 7/8" wide.
